4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:
- Passwords are hashed using a strong one-way algorithm (bcrypt) — your plain-text password is never stored
- Database access is restricted and not exposed to the public internet
- Sessions are managed server-side with secure, HTTP-only cookies
- HTTPS is used to encrypt data in transit
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete all associated personal data — including your profile, progress, notes, and quiz history — within a reasonable period.
Anonymised or aggregated data (which cannot identify you) may be retained for analytical purposes.
